Bougainvillea Starfire – 85mm

Bougainvillea Starfire is one of our larger growing bougainvilleas and gets to 3m plus. She is a seasonal flowerer with stunning burnt orange coloured bracts in the warmer months above dark green leaves with reddish tint.

Bougainvillea are long flowering and can be adapted for a wide variety of landscaping uses. Some of these uses include topiary, hedging, hanging baskets, arbours and arches. Today’s Bougainvillea have a great range in growth habit and height. There are dwarf varieties that grow to only a metre, compact medium growers and some such as White Cascade that offer a beautiful cascading habit.

Bougainvillea prefer a well drained soil and sunny position. The range of colours offers limitless combinations and a palette to choose from that would satisfy any landscape design.

• Please note: At this small size, Bougainvillea have delicate roots and should be handled with care. Don’t tease or disturb roots but rather water the tube well, gently invert and tap tube on the side of a hard surface so it slides out. Our recommendation is to plant our beautifully-grown Bougainvillea into a larger pot rather than directly into the ground.
