Chamaedorea Elegans Parlor Palms – 85mm

The Chamaedorea Elegans Parlor Palm is a beauty. This is one of the most sought after indoor palms around as he thrives where other species may struggle.

Features a cluster of stems out of which shoot luscious dark green fronds. The Parlor Palm will grow to almost a meter they are great in a small pot on a table or as a larger pot plant on the floor.

Parlor palms require very little attention, they tolerate bright and low light conditions, with little water, they are a perfect choice for office spaces or homes where they said they will water him but they don’t! Let’s just say he can handle a bit of neglect.

A parlour palm will grow to the size of its container, so if you want it to continue to grow, pot it up and give it a feed with a liquid fertiliser for indoor plants during the warmer months to maximise.

This is an equally great plant to start with for the beginner or the seasoned houseplant collector.

Please resist pruning or cutting off healthy green fronds. This plant only has one point of growth and if removed will stop the growth on that part. Lower fronds will naturally die and brown over time though and you should cut them off to maintain the overall attractive appearance.

• What to use me for:  I bring the tropical feel to your indoor spaces and suit a shady border. If it’s not too hot there I look good in a container by the pool.

• I grow to:  I’ll reach 100cms.

• I am currently: I’m 15-20cm tall in an 85mm pot

• Where to place me: I need a partially shady space outside and I’ll tolerate low light indoors.

• How far to space me:  I need 100cms of space to stretch my fronds.

• Soil Conditions: Most soils are fine but not waterlogged. If I’m in a pot I need a well-drained potting mix, and please step away with the weekly watering can.
