Radermachera China Doll – 85mm

Radermachera China Doll – Big Babe 85mm – is a pretty, textured and compact tree with lush dark green fern-like fronds on graceful arching stems. As it matures in warmer climates white trumpet flowers add an extra dimension.

China Doll is the perfect feature plant in a pot where she’ll grow to two metres, or directly in the garden border where she’ll reach 6-8 metres high in the right spot.

You can also use her as a really unusual hedge or a screen around the patio or pool. The delicate fronds move in the breeze to create movement as well as vivid colour.

• What to use me for:  I’m a pretty indoor feature plant and a great addition to the garden. 

• I grow to:  In a pot, I’ll make two metres high, in the ground a whopping 6-8 metres – and I’ll do it quickly too.

• I am currently:  A big babe in an 85mm nursery pot

• Where to place me:  I like bright, indirect light inside and a sunny to a partly shady position outside. 

• How far to space me: I’m skinny and tall so 2m is all I need space wise.

• Soil Conditions: I like most soils that are moist but well-drained. Indoors I need a well-drained potting mix and a light hand with the watering can.
