Tulbaghia cominsii x violacea Purple Eye has narrow grey-green leaves that form in upright clumps and produces small pink flowers with dark purple centres. When crushed the leaves have a strong garlic smell (hence the nickname Society Garlic). Purple Eye is a smaller more narrower version on the more common Tulbaghia violacea. This small plant is worth growing for the silver foliage and small flowers and does really well in a pot on sunny balcony.Â
